Your team on the ground

Sri Lanka packs tea country, rainforest, beaches, colonial cities and ancient heritage sites into a small island, and most of it is a few hours’ drive apart. We are a Sri Lankan production company with bases in Colombo and Kandy, and we can be the local partner for teams who want to shoot here: a full production for a brand that cannot travel, or crew, kit and local know-how for a team that flies in.

We have made films with and for international organisations working in Sri Lanka, including UNDP, USAID and the European Union, and for the local operations of global brands such as Jaguar Land Rover. We filmed Ministry of Sound’s Sri Lanka tour and the Daniel O’Donnell & Mary Duff concert in Sri Lanka, and spent a season along the 300 km Pekoe Trail through the tea country for The Pekoe Trail.

The biggest crew we have fielded so far was for Compassion International’s AMT Gathering at the Sheraton Colombo: a multi-camera event with 12 cameras and a 15-person crew, edited and delivered within a week. Our crew works in English and Sinhala, so briefings, call sheets and conversations with locations run smoothly for a visiting team.

Our own shoots have taken us across the island: Colombo and its suburbs, Kandy, the hill and tea country around Nuwara Eliya, Hatton, Talawakele, Ella, Gampola and Nallathanniya, Anuradhapura and Dambulla, Yala, and Galle, Ampara and Batticaloa for UNDP programmes.

What we can take on

Locations and recce. Tea estates and hill country, the south and east coasts, Colombo’s streets and skyline, Kandy, and heritage sites, scouted with photos and video so you can choose from home. Fixing and logistics. Transport, accommodation for the crew, local talent, translators, and help working out the permissions and permits a shoot needs, from location owners to the right public offices. Crew and kit. Directors, camera operators, sound, lighting and drivers, with our own cinema cameras, lenses, LED lighting and editing suites. Post-production. Edit, grade, sound and subtitles in English, Sinhala or Tamil, in-house.

Working remotely

Not every client can be on set. We share the plan, the shot list and the location options up front, send footage and edits for online review as the shoot goes, and deliver finished files in the formats and specs you need, wherever you are. Messages, calls and reviews run in English across time zones, on WhatsApp, email or the tools your team already uses.

That is how we work with Kaizoft, a software company in the United States: the product demo video and the animated explainer were scripted, made and approved entirely online.

Where we are

We work from two bases: Colombo (405/1 Gathotuwa Rd, Colombo 10600) and Kandy (21/142 Aruppola, Kandy 20000).
